The Cincinnati streetcar will offer true mobility independence. People in wheelchairs and scooter board and de-board level with the curb in seconds. In Portland, Oregon, so many persons with disabilities have moved near the streetcar line that it's unusual not to see at least one person in a motorized scooter on evry streetcar you travel on there. The level boarding is also good for parents with strollers and travellers with luggage.

Textured tiles at the streetcar stops indicate to people with vision impairments where the streetcar stops are located and provide additional safety.

According to the 2000 census 48.2 percent of the residents along the streetcar line live in households without an automobile. By increasing the mobility of these citizens and creating new job opportunities in the urban core, it will increase the independence of many Cincinnatians.
